Alone

Take me up, for I cannot stand.
I am Alone, in the rain.
My wings, broken discord.
Hold me close, for I cannot fly.
I am here, in the sky.
My tears shattered dying.
Pick me up, for I cannot hold.
I am voiceless, in the night.
My song, ragged tattered.
Find me here, for I cannot see.
I am lost, in the snow.
My dreams fiery raging.
Light me a path, for I cannot go.
I am listless, in the ground.
My fears burning cold.
Take me with you, for I cannot leave.
I am joyous, in the day.
My visions, haunting close
and I close my eyes on my distant dreaming.

Falling

And I am falling
spiraling downward.
Swiftly drowning in a dream
wondering if I shall wake,
as deep shadows claw,
in corners of my mind.
And the light I cannot bear to see,
stings deeply at my eyes,
and an empty amphora houses my soul.
The shadows call once again,
and I am falling,
spiraling downwards.
Through a starless night,
and gaping maws.
Then the darkness buoys my sprit,
with gentle mantled wings,
as oblivion devours my tortured dreams.

Shadows of Dreams

Alone I dream
of dark things,
Echoes of shadows in my mind.
Of mindless ghosts on the sands of time
I see me here,
before the mirror.
Looking ahead,
Filled with dread.
But seeing only behind,
wanting to be past that barrier’s shine.
Lonesome I weep,
Carried off to quiet sleep.
And dark shadowed dreams
that burst the soul’s seams.
But by morning’s noon,
Come to pass too soon
a smile in the rain,
A bit of happiness comes again.

Kindred

Hello, I think I see you,
are you one like me too?
I am sorry to see that you are not free.
In a gilded cage, wings clipped
you are safer here they say?
And the light fades away.
But my soul feels empty without the stars,
and the distant redness of the planet Mars.
I hear the call of my kindred,
and slowly slip away.
There was still so much I wanted to say.
So much that needed to be said.
As the poison of lies to you is slowly fed.
A glimmering light,
a bit of truth burns bright,
and then slowly fades to darkness.

Silver

Liquid light,
starlight bright,
falls from cold fingers
pooling at my feet.
The sky is made of ice
the light shimmering in ribbons.
And it trickles
from my cold fingers
ink black cupped in my hands
flowing from between my cold fingers
and splashes silver droplets
at my feet
I watch the silver streams
fall from hungry eyes
dark pools of ink black
dripping silver
each drop reflecting the moon
the shadows stretch long
over a sea of white diamonds
the world is cold
Cold as death
cold as the silver
that falls
from chill hands and eyes
streaming from the dark pools
cold empty places
that shimmer silver
but like empty promises
it shines bright
Yet cannot fill a hollow soul.

Black & white

My lips are numb and tingly
and my thoughts don't come out right.
There is a creature, sliding through my mind,
colored black and white.
My days are dull and drear.
But ever stark are my nights
burning, churning black and white.
The shadows crawl when darkness falls
like a razor keen and bright.
The winter wind settles in my bones
with a chill as dark as blight.
And it crawls into a soul
that seethes black and white.
Red fingers swirl and twine
cut swift, cut deep like a black winged kite.
I’ve had not enough thought,
and not enough time
but I've yet to finish this rhyme
that gleams black on white.
But yet its just right,
as this strange presence holds me tight,
drifting through a sea of darkness and dappled light
that flows around me.
Rippling black and white.

Nightmares

Black night,
Blood bright.
I soar on wings,
Silver banded.

I feel so dead;
it‘s nothing anybody said.
I scream as the razor falls,
Black binds.

Painted masks,
little glass flasks.

I cry in the cold river,
Crimson tears.

Night

Darkest night
Shining moon disk
Cold blood soaked blight
Sanguine beauty, bright
The sliver stars
Shine like eternity
Close enough to almost catch
Yet too far away to hold
And the wind
Empty, hollow
Roars across the vast expanse
Crying for its home
this brilliant black night.

The Drug

This addiction,
my affliction.
Living breathing
dying dreaming
this dance is a deception,
as it always ever was,
lasting as forever does.
This everlasting deception
so full of dizzy drunken perceptions.
Held close in a sweet embrace
and we’re begging for one more taste.
Like each other's bittersweet drug,
its arms like iron bands snug.
We hate you, we hate you,
every single breath of you,
is one to many, one to few.
And we sit drowning in each confession
each giving our concessions.
Here we are,
living breathing,
still deceiving, never seeing
all the times we've fallen down,
only to get back up for another round.

Dream Chaser

Rise up on glistening midnight wings
Soaring amid stars and wayward dreams
Drink in the star light
Until eyes shine in the darkest night
Finding solstice
Under a velvet sky
Dreaming in the darkness
Seeing through its starkness
Until the spirit is drunk on its visions,
That pulsate in step to an unheard song
Continuing to dance until the day we die
