A smile

A smile is such a simple thing,
Yet wonderful to give...
A smile in the darkest times;
The laughter helps us live.

Darkness Grinning

Behind the best intentions,
A luking evil hides;
An evil grin that lures us in-
The darkness, here resides.

Comes That Which Follows

With light, comes darknes.
With night, follows day.
With good, comes evil.
With work, follows play.

Time and Memories

Time is a wasted comodity,
Yet more precious than gold.
For with it we buy memories
To live by as we grow old.

Mourning

Mourn not those passing
As time passes by,
But Mourn those living
Who wait here to die.

Friend or Foe?

Who goes there?
Friend or foe?
Can you stay,
Or must we go?

Come in; sit down.
Don't be shy.
I'd like to know you
Before I say goodbye.

Your Eyes! My word!
The mysteries they hold-
They draw me in
Like a miner to gold.

Tell me, Keeper,
What is it like?
Eternally feared
Like the darkest night?

Do ever you tire
Of making your rounds?
Or do you take pleasure
In visiting their grounds?

Must we depart?
Then here, take my hand.
And lead me through shadows
To the darker land.

Sounds of Heritage

Music, sweet melodies
Touch the soul of inspiration;
Bringing back memories
Of our once great nation.

Direction

North; South; East; West.
Which of the can claim be best?
NONE! All are part of a whole--
Thus coexistence should be their goal.

Draconic Beauty

[This poem is dedicated to Ruppollatti, my soulmate]

Smooth-scaled wonder, she soars the skies
Ever watching with her deep blue eyes.
The golden benevolence, she inspires me
To believe that humans, one day, will see...
See their wrongdoings, repent of their ways,
And live in harmony, and see better days.
Her voice, like a bird--
Sweetest music ever heard.
That long, strong tail, cuts through the air.
Her smile, a blessing, is fine and fair.
The golden draken of my life
Rescuing me from sorrow and strife.

Want

Want the greatest evil,
Is selfishness of Man.
Provoked, it has potential
To make or break one's plan.

Dragon's Advice

Do not disgrace the quiet dragon--
His wrath is strong and hard.
Though peaceful by his nature,
His honor shan't be marred.

A Name Called

Listen! Can you hear?
A name is being whispered here...
Who speaks? Who calls? Who's over ther?
Now it's gone... I know not to where.

Dragon's SeaQuest

Her wings, they graced the blue serene
As she set out to lands unseen.
Other dragons watched her go--
And wondered why she acted so.

"These treasures that she seeks to find
Will not be there," claimed dragonkind,
"Her voyage- it shall be in vain,
She'll surely return in grievance and pain."

Twenty years have since gone by,
And silently my brethrn cry.
They fear that she has met defeat-
She fought the se and she was beat.

I know, however, that she lives on.
I fell her heartbeat though she's gone...
She's found a home away from here-
And that is why I've shed no tear.

Darker, Deeper

Deeper into darkness,
Farther into night...
Revealed and then hidden
By the dancing Moon's light.

Past Away

The past has passed
'Tis gone aways
So look now ahead
Towards better days.

Wanting to Stay

The land I see before me here
Apears so far and vast.
I find this place doth slow my pace;
It makes the moment last.

Through Dragon Eyes

When I see the world through Dragon Eyes,
I see all I need to see.
The pleasure; the pain; the loss; the gain:
It's all right there for me.

The Darkness sometimes overwhelms
The beauty of the Light,
But even in the Darkest realms,
There's beauty within sight.

I see the passion behind each blow,
The love they have for pain.
I see the fears of all the years And what they want to gain.

I see their dreams, their petty hopes,
Like candles in the night.
I see the things they love the most,
The goals for which they fight.

I've seen the things that spawned from Hope,
The brightest flame of all.
I've seen the hopeful children grow,
And see now how they stand tall.

Of all the things I think I see,
Hope stands out the most to me.

She shines so strong amidst the throng
Of the Darkness that abounds.
She burns away the Dark each day,
And Light once more resounds.

No more at Night the pain I see
(Although it is still clear to me),
Through Dragon Eyes I now can see
The Light of Hope which sets us free.

Though still I walk through shadows grim,
No longer are my spirits dim,
For Dragon Eyes will show me Hope,
My chances won't seem slim.

I hope to see another day again,
Through these Dragon Eyes,
They give me Hope that I may see
The Truths behind the Lies.

The Darkness Grin

"Respect Thy Inner Demons."

In Loving Memory,
1975-2006
M. G.

Black as Sin,
The Storm rolls in
"Beware," she cries,
"The Darkness Grin!"

His seductive ways
Lures those whom he preys
Into those great wings
Where his shadow plays.

Like cold blades of steel,
His claws seek by feel-
The source of your life:
Your heart is his meal.

Your blood, crimson red,
On which he has fed,
You no longer require
For now you are dead.

The end has begun,
Now a new web is spun
For while flesh is no more
The soul shall live on.

You think you've been freed?
No more shall you be-
For now you're a slave
To his every need.

Black as Sin,
The Storm draws you in.
Take heed, my Friend,
Of the Darkness Grin.
